    iAd: Apple Guidelines/Worth it?

Hello Clickteam community, I had two questions about iAd.

Situation: In my app, I have it currently setup to run iAds. However, there are features of the game that occupy the iAd space, so I have setup a few buttons and triggers that enable/disable iAd to allow the user to use these functions. My goal of this method was to provide the app as free, and have an IAP which disables them, permanently revealing those features previously stated.

Question: Will Apple allow the enabling/disabling of iAd repeatedly? Does the "enabling/disabled" actually turn OFF iAd, or simply hide it? IE, will an American Express ad go away then come back once the game re-enables iAd?

My second question is about free w/ iAds VS. Tier 1. Can any developers who released with each method share which way worked best for them? I like the free w/ iAds option because it gets the app in the hands of a lot of people, but then again it would be nice to get money up front for my hard work on this app.

I have a lot of IAPs in this game ready, so that's another plus to going free.

Thanks for any replies in advance!

Well, I know that Apple won't allow the iAds 'covering' important parts of the screen. It also would count as tricking the user into tapping the ad I think...

DistantJ, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think i read that apple no longer pays for clicks. No point in tricking users into clicking ads if there's no benefit to the developer.

The intention isn't to get clicks. It's just there's an ad at the bottom, and once in a while a user would tap a button that disables iAd, then they can use features there, once done it automatically resumes iAd. It doesn't jump back up when the user could be still using it to get clicks or anything.

But in that case should I just forget about iAds all together?

They don't pay for clicks but they eCPM goes up when you get clicks.
