Making an event affect a group of actives?

Hi I'm making a small top down game, featuring a group of playable characters. When I started making events for collision control and such I created a separate event for each character that will interact with it. pretty soon however the list of events have grown fairly long. I was now wondering if there is a way to make a group for all my actives (characters), and thereby cut down the number of events needed to one per obstacle?

Sorry if this question is a bit basic and therefore probably been asked by others before, any answer is appreciated!

    Make use of qualifyers.
Make all your Characters part of the ( for example ) qualifyer group "Player".
The in the Event Editor you only need to Program Events for "Group Player", and it will work for all your Characters ( since they all qualify as "Players" ).

    This helps?

Yes, you can give the actives a qualifier, and then use this qualifier in the eventeditor instead of each of the actives.
To assign a qualifier to an active object, click the object (or select all the objects that should share a qualifier), open the property window, click on the Events tab, then rightclick on the white square to the right of the "Qualifier(s)" text, and finally click on the secret Edit button that appears. Now you can add a qualifier from the list.
