    Question Movement Advice

I'm submitting a game for Mochi's one button challenge, but I'm having trouble coming up with an idea to associate movement with index values.

http://megaswf.com/file/2455604 (click "Play Flash Full Screen")

    1. Basically, the user holds down the left mouse button.
    2. When they release the left mouse button, an object is created and the movement is executed. (currently, the user just needs to click)
    3. I can't use any button but the left mouse button because of competiton rules.

I could create an object with an assigned movement for every possible index value, but that would really be a pain. Alternatively, I could severely limit the range and scope.

I would like the movement to resemble a parabolic curve. The longer the user holds the mouse down, the higher the disk will go. The faster they release it, the further the disc will travel on the x axis. It would be extremely useful if it was possible to make the gravity variable negative, but sadly this is not possible.

Any ideas? I took a look at the castle defender tutorial, but it isn't really helpful for this because of the complications of the projectile movement.

I almost forgot. I tried using a simple parabolic function to control the movement of the disc, but I couldn't figure out the correct syntax. I read another post about how this is difficult to enter, but I couldn't find any information on it.
