Draw with mouse - Once you have closed area, select objects within

    Hi All!

As the title says, I want the player to be able to draw, using the mouse, and once she/he draws a closed shape, all objects within the closed shape's area should be selected. How can I do that?

You can use an RTS Selection Box for that purpose. I have an open source example on my website.

I think I've been looking for the same thing and I think it's more of a draw-around selection thing.

I came up with a method a while back but it's not very accurate a lot of the time. It'll only select the shapes rectangle (so the farthest vertical and horizontal edges are the edges of the rectangle).

Hello and thank you all for replying! Sorry that I haven't been around for a while. Yes, I'm not really talking about an RTS-style selection box, but rather drawing a shape and selecting the objects within the closed shape. However, if doing this is way too complex and is inaccurate, I may make a compromise and use the RTS-style selection box. But going back to the drawing method: Can anyone please tell me more accurately how to do it or give me a tutorial link regarding this matter?
