    iOS joystick

    Hi,
I am trying to convert a game that uses the eight direction movement and a shoot and accelerate button. I thought I'd try the built in iOS joystick but I don't know how to use it. What events trigger the joystick? Can the joystick be tested on my PC as I create the game or does it need to be transferred to my iMac? Thanks,
    Brett

I decided to do a quick test and found that the joystick works on the simulator (on the iMac) but not in MMF2.

Oh, thanks for letting us know about that - I don't think I would have tried on the iMac if it wasn't responding in MMF2!

On a PC, just use the normal keyboard joystick control keys : arrows, shift and control. It would be quite difficult to emulate the touch joystick with a mouse (how would you press fire as well as move?). So we just display the images of the joystick so that you design your game knowing where they will be on the display.
Use the Joystick control object if you want to modify the position of the buttons and joystick.

Francois...just a hint....you can put the touch joystick to be simulated by the mouse and Fire 1 and Fire 2 to Control and SPACEBAR for example....its possible?

It is certainly possible, but this half-and half solution would be more complicated than just the keyboard, so I wont do it.
