Question Laser beam weapon in game, how to make?

I made a game and want to have a laser beam come out from some characters toward others but not sure how I should go about doing this. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

    P.S.

The beam needs to start out as a point from direction character who shoots it and grow to the character shooting at and maybe a few sec after.

basic; it can still be done with a simple active with animation, and set to a direction/angle.
advanced; trigonometry will be your friend here.

Danjo is correct. If you give up there are examples on my website, but try not to give up too soon.

I would recommend one of these laser examples. For the laser itself, you don't need anything but a few fast loops, and a few objects. But you may need some other math work to make it rotate the way you need it to.

    Nice example N64Mario!
However, the laser will be blinking during its overlapping with active object.
    How to do prevent that?
