My MacBook is coming with snow leopard, which is what was the requirement when I purchased iOS exporter at the get go, but I've read a post that lion is required. Can I compile on snow leopard?

Officially, no. You might be able to using certain "hacks" that are floating around the internet. But firstly, I don't know how long they will work for. Secondly, I'm not sure if this will cause problems when submitting your games to Apple. Although I've heard it's sort of terrible, if you're able to I'd upgrade to Lion.
I think the issue is with the version of xcode and the iOS version on any device you want to test with. The xcode you can download now will require lion, and the latest iOS requires the latest sdk and xcode.

That's unfortunate, but understandable. I'm getting closer to being able to develop for iOS, but it may take me a wee bit longer before i have all of my pieces in place. Certainly can't fault ClickTeam on that
oh crapola. The macbook i purchased has a coreDuo chip, and not a core2Duo, which is the lowest requirement for Lion. Is there a way that i can compile with snow leopard and the iOS converter? I'm thinking i might have to turn around and sell this laptop as it may not meet my needs. Grrrrr. I guess this comes down to xcode and if there is a way to get the version of xcode that will work with snow leopard. I thought i had my ducks in a row, but apparently not, and aside from my ipad and iphone, i don't have apple experience. Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.
Is there actually a chip called coreduo? sure it's not a core2duo typo?, I think before apple went to those processors they used some weird naming chip, long as you do not have that one it should be ok.

It did state it comes with snow leopard installed
CoreDuo was before Core2Duo. Not a typo. The CoreDuo was out for a while before Core2Duo came out, the first macbooks had them. I had to sell my CoreDuo macbook earlier this year in order to get a Core2Duo one that would run lion.
The original CoreDuo CPUs can't run Lion because they are 32-bit, not 64-bit. Sorry![]()

*edit* now i'm not actually too sure: https://discussions.apple.com/thread...art=0&tstart=0
"Also note: that Core Duo Mac's can only go up to 10.6 Snow Leopard and can not run 10.7 Lion." from one of the replies there.
Looks like this will go back on eBay. I hate making work for myself
