Glitches moving .mfa files from one computer to another

I have been working on a game for a while now, and my desktop is getting kinda old. I'm worried it's going to crash soon, so I installed MMF2D on my laptop and sent myself the file. When I open it and try to edit it, the text from all buttons is removed and the runtime editor crashes after the first frame. How can I fix this?

Try re-sending it first. If that doesn't work, buy a USB thumb drive to move it over. They aren't very expensive. This one should work quite nicely for moving it. If you are fine with it, you can create a copy of the MFA file, remove everything from the game that isn't needed to demonstrate the problem (you can even change the graphics into colored boxes if you want), and upload the stripped-down version here.

I can't because the file exceeds the 1 MB limit.

    Couple things to think about
    - Is the laptop running the same build number as the desktop?
    - Are you using external graphics in your creation, did you copy those over also?
    - Are you using the hardware accelerated version of MMF? Is the video card driver on your laptop up to date?

Even after stripping it down? You could try putting it in a ZIP file to make it smaller.

    1. Updated them both, tried to transfer again, didn't work.
    2. I edited the active object for all of my sprites. I did have a sound file in one frame that I didn't include, but I didn't think that would corrupt the whole application.
    3. I'm kinda new to MMF2D, so considering I have no idea what you're talking about, probably not.
    4. Yes.

3 MB is better than 6 MB, but it's still over.

It's really that big after stripping it down, including deleting any sound effects and extra objects? Make sure to strip it down in a copy of the MFA file, not the original MFA file.
