Relatively new MMF2 user looking for assistance

    Hey all,

I'm a relatively new MMF2 developer and I'm looking for assistance with a game I'm building from someone with a lot of experience!

I'm looking to hook up with someone on aim so I can figure this out in real time.... Just make it easier.

So if you have extra time inbox me your instant messenger id!

    Thanks

    Ok here's a few:

    1. My game has a character with 3 layers: face, eyes, body. How do I get the face and eyes to stick to the body in the same spot and follow it everywhere?

    2. I am completely lost with how to get a platform game to work. My character jumps using a vector. How do I make the platforms work so he can't attach underneath or to the side, and that he can only land properly by jumping in from the top?

    1. Use the "Set position" action, and instead of "exact coordinates", select "relative position". It may take some trial and error when it comes to getting the objects in just the right spot compared to the body, but it will be worth it.

    2. If you are using MMF2 (not TGF2), then I recommend that you use the platform movement object instead of using any other method of movement. If needed, I can make a simple example for you. If you use the platform movement object, then you will need to know how to set an object's hotspot. I can show you how to set a object's hotspot if you don't already know how.

I want to use the vector movement ability to jump the characters in my game around. If that's still possible with platform movement I'll try it.

You can make the characters jump with the platform movement object (the platform movement works too, but it's really buggy, so you shouldn't use it). If you only have TGF2, then you can't use the platform movement object, as it's not available for TGF2, and you can use the platform movement, as there aren't really any simple alternatives for making platform games with TGF2.
