    Issues only on my machine?

    Hi
Ive been working on a game ( Flash ) with a partner for some time now.

    ...
Ive been experiencing some isses which my partner does not experience, and i wonder why that is?

    A
When i move my mouse across the running Flash game, FPS drops from 50 to 20 - 30, when i stop moving the mouse the FPS goes back up again?
My partner does not experience this on his machine.

    B
There is a short Sample loop ( .ogg ) looping in the game which loops perfectly as EXE, but in Flash there seems to be a ahort pause between each loop?
My partner does not experience this on his machine.

I found this related topic about the issue

I'm pretty sure that the sound lapse is a known issue.

Your frame rate is probably going down because you're mousing over too many events that are sensitive to the mouse over objects or within zones. Are you and your partner testing on the exact same part of the game?

Otherwise, maybe an old machine wouldn't be able to keep up with a high frame rate because of your processing speed. So, it could be your machine, but unlikely MMF. Are you guys working on the same version?

Im using Windows7, and think thats what my partner is also using.
I'm pretty sure that the sound lapse is a known issue.

Yeas the sounds lag is a known issue, but why am i the only one experiencing it and not my partner?

It is not related to any kind of Events triggering from MMF2, i made sure of that.
Its simply related to the mouse cursor moving rapidly across the Flash game screen.

Yesterday the FPS drop was quite big, maybe because my Laptop had been running for a long time.
Today after my machine had a long night sleep, the drop was more like 2 - 3 FPS.

Still, it doesnt explain the strange behaviour. Im using a touch pad.

Does anyone else get FPS drops by moving the cursor rapidly across the MMF2 Flash Game Screen?

    ...
I realy want to know why this stuff is happening, and if anyone else is experiencing it.

I'm assuming that you guys are using the same Flash player version, right?

I am not doing anything special when you move the mouse. Just a simple interruption handler that stores the coordinates in variables of the runtime. So I doubt it comes from MMF runtime.
An .ogg sound will be converter into mp3 for Flash (Flash only plays mp3). You should try with a mp3 directly, it may work better.

I just made a new App with only a Counter Object.
I only did 'Allways -> set Counter to FPS'

I can conclude from this experiment that the FPS goes +- 2 when i ( A ) move the cursor fast accross the screen ( B ) click the mouse buttons in rappid succession.
The drop seems to amplify for a short time frame after i open a new tab with YouTube ( random discovery ). Maybe its a browser issue?
Ill check out other browsers and report back the findings.

I can now relaxe knowing it has nothing to do with the project itself

    ...
Im sorry but the looping sample is not a .ogg, but an .WAV
I might try and change it to mp3 or ogg, but still is strange that only 1 of us are experiencing the pause.
Ill report back with this as well.

    ...
Ill have to check the flsh version stuff too.
