I believe they are working on it.

There is a GameCenter multiplayer extension however. I was able to get it working between two of my iOS devices easily. A simple tic-tac-toe game.
There are a lot of users on the AppStore, so you'd have to be able to maintain the server infrastructure for a large number of connections yourself if you were to use lacewing.
