Standard or Developer version for iOS Development

I am considering purchasing either the standard or developer version of Multimedia Fusion 2, and had a few questions. I've never created an iOS app, or any other software before (apart from very, very basic games), and from what I've seen in the demo version, MMF seems it is easy to use, but still powerful enough to create something good.

When you go to the app store, it really bugs me if an app is released as 2 separate versions (iPad/iPhone). I much prefer the universal apps. My first question is, with the fact 5 different versions have to be created (iPhone non-retina, retina, iPhone 5, iPad non-retina, retina), how is this done in MMF? Do you create the higher resolution and then the iPhone will automatically make it smaller if it needs? How do you create the version for iPad, with a different aspect ratio?

How is rotation addressed? For example, many apps will have different views in portrait and landscape mode. How can this be done in MMF?

In the demo, when the build type is set to iOS, I am asked if I would like to change resolutions, and in the dev version, I can clone a frame? I did play with right clicking on the frame and cloning, is this what's necessary to get it to work on different devices? Does that mean the standard version couldn't do it?

Basically, I'm asking, with all this in mind, can dev do some of this stuff, that the standard couldn't?

Sorry for the bad grammar, and the probably very basic questions. Let me know if anything needs clarification. Also, perhaps this should be in another forum section. Would a moderator please move if necessary?

I'm using the standard version. You don't need dev version for any of what you say though (well except for the cloning part)

You can make games universal. You need to make use of a good resolution to create your game in though. I created my game in 1024 x 768 resolution and its perfect on ipads. However i used the feature of "stretch" for iphones/ipods etc. This stretches my game screen out a bit but not too bad. I have yet to test on a iphone 5 though. However there are a thread or two (unfourtunatly perhaps under the IOS beta test forum which is only available if you have the exporter) that gives you better ideas of how you can get better displays on universal devices.

Portrait & landscape can be set in your MMF2 app (and xcode) and that deals with rotation. Nothing to worry about with that.

The dev version can clone to a different resolution from what i tried in the demo, but it doesnt work exactly how you would think..
