    That's really confusing. What should I do when making a screen layout optimized for 960x640? Looks fine on iPad2, should I scale up iPad 3? Since I have oversized buttons on iPod3GS I assume I have to scale them down for non-retina devices. But how do I detect the display type I have to adjust to?

    All of this confusion would be fixed by having different sizes for the joystick images, so they would adjust depending on the display resolution and device. Here is an example of the problem in images...hopefully it clarifies what's the matter, look at the iPhone screenshot and at the iPad one, and look at the Joystick images, is this really intentional?

    Renatos, excellent example and your game, you're using reduce colors than good graphics?

    Renatos example is equal to mine, not is because they confuse with this theme, the size on the iPhone (Retina or not Retina) is failing. This is an old bug.

    Koji_Kabuto...I don't know what you mean...you mean image compression? Not in all, but many yes...since the game is rather large, it ran slow in slower devices.

    No, it should enlarge the images, so that they appear the same size on a higher resolution screen.

    No, he's saying that you made your images too large which is why they overlap on the iPhone. On iPad the images can afford to be a lot smaller than they are here. If you hold your iPad and iPhone together you should find that the buttons are the same size, physically. It makes sense because nobody's thumbs grow when they use an iPad.

    If you want further control over it, you can manually create your own overlay controls with active objects and the multiple touch object, that's what I always do.

    Well I have resized it already as mentioned and they do work now, BUT I don't fully agree with this. But either way I got it working, thanks for the input DistantJ.
