    animated PNG support?

Hello I would rather use higher quality animated PNG files than GIFs. I tried importing an animated .png into MF2 but only the first frame imported. Is there a way to make this work correctly? thanks

.apng files are not supported. Just export all the individual frames as numbered .png files, and then MMF2 can import them all at once. Alternatively, you can create a single spriteset image and import the individual frames from that using "box mode".

Can I really import them all at once, or does that mean I have to accept the dialog box for each file as they all go in as separate active objects? Then they aren't one object that is animated. Also I can't find how to create a spriteset image.

edit: figured out how to get all the .pngs into one object, I was confused about the process. Simply import the first one and then say yes to importing the rest of the numbered series. Double clicking on the new single object shows all the frames of the animation.

I wrote a short article on importing spritesheets using the "box mode":

The nice thing about doing it that way is that you can set the hotspot and action point, and it keeps all your frames in one place, which is more convenient for editing them in your graphics app.
Some people prefer to use separate numbered image files, and that's fine too - use whichever method you prefer
