Icons bug

if you give an edit box, list box, something like that a custom icon, and then afterwards change some other property of that object, the icon of it will set back to default.

I can't reproduce this.

I can, every time, try this:
Insert a list object
Customize its icon
Then give it 'hide on start', say
Then click off the object, then reselect it (in the frame), the icon will be set back to default.

This also works if you resize the object, or change any of it's Settings.

Ah I see

When you said Icon I thought you were talking about the icon in the properties tool bar. Something for Yves to look at but thankfully its a bug that has almost no effect on the use of MMF <img src="/center/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I was talking about the icon (of the object) in the properties toolbar. The icon doesnt switch back to default in the workspace toolbar right away.
But this bug does impact on ease of use, as i change the icons to differentiate same form-objects from eachother quickly.

Sure I agree it has an impact -- Its just not a bug that impacts the performance of a completed creation or cause a completed creation to behave incorrectly. I am sure Yves will put it on the list and correct it.

I don't think I can change this.

To avoid the icon to be automatically modified, you have to unselect the Create Automatic Icon option in the preferences of the Frame editor.

If this option is selected, then the icon is updated as soon as the object is modified. Of course an option like "hide on start" in this object doesn't modify the appearance of the object, but on others it could and it's impossible to know which option would affect the display.

In fact one option is missing. We should add an option to lock the icon in each object. It's already in the wish list.

That'd be really helpful. I've always wanted to be able to lock the icon (or add an automatic hue / identifying character, but thats another matter).
