    Value Finder

Im looking for the MMF2 version of an extension that existed for MMF1.5 called value finder.

It allowed you to count how many instances matched whatever conditions you set in the event editor. So if you had 100 objects but only 3 matched your conditions, the value finder will return a result of 3.

    Was this extension converted???
If not is there an equivalent??

    Equivalent = "Select Object"
    http://www.dynamicarcade.co.uk/downloads/extensions2/Select/Select%20Object%20v0.09%20beta1.zip

It doesn't do qualifiers for most of its actions / conditions, but "count selected objects" is an expression and I can't think of a way to make them support qualifiers anyway. If you have any ideas?

    Re: Value Finder

Ill download and have a tinker with it.

For what i'm doing atm I dont really need qualifier support but I know i definately will in the future.
Let me have a play with it first and I will give you some ideas for possible added funtions! (if needed)

EDIT: It's a little diferent to the value finder object.
It looks like it can do what I want for the moment, but the value finder object was easier to use. It would count how many event matched the conditions, stored the value, then I could load it into a counter or loop or whatever in the next event.

Qualifier support would also be great as all my events are going to have to control a lot of different objects using qualifiers. It looks interesting though, I will experiment a bit further

    Re: Value Finder

I wouldn't call it easier, just different.

The value finder stored the value inside itself with an action, which meant it had qualifier support. On the other hand (IIRC) it meant you couldn't get the count in the same event.

I'm considering adding the value finder's method to the object too, to get around the problem of not being able to reference a qualifier in an expression.

    Re: Value Finder

yeh that would be great. I have been messing around with it since I downloaded it and it is pretty good.
If you could add in the same features as the value finder object had, it would be great.
