    Pre sale questions

I tried the demo of mmf2 and it was very easy and fun to play around in, but I have a few questions.

    1. Unless I'm mistaken, you can create multi-player games with mmf2 correct? I want to know if the moo servers are the only server option and if they are, can anyone run their own server (and does it have to be on the mooservers.com website for it to function properly?) - if not what other options are available and are they any better/worse than the moo servers? And what is the maximum user amount with moo servers/other servers?

    2. I realize mmf2 is only capable of 2D (at least, from what I know it is) but can it create isometric games (not a big problem if it can't but I'm just wondering)

    3. Can you allow the player to create their own level - be it drag and drop or some other way? (Say for a platform game or making a jigsaw puzzle (moving the pieces))

    4. Has anyone created any multi-player games with mmf2 that you could point me to?

    5. Do you have any arguments about mmf2 vs mmf2 dev? I have looked at the compare page and it didn't seem like too big of a difference.

Just answer as best as you can, all replies are appreciated.

    1. Yes, you can use your own servers. They do not have to be on the mooservers.com website.

    2. Yup, it can make isometric games.

    3. You can, it's just a bit difficult. Not any real features in MMF2 that are the 'easy way' but it is definitely possible.

    4. I do not know of any, but I know there are some out there.

    5. If you're going commercial, get mmf2 dev. If you want a professional looking map editor, get mmf2 dev.
If you're making freeware games, get mmf2 vanilla.

    Re: Pre sale questions

I don't do multiplayer, so someone else can give you details on that

    2. Objects can be resized at runtime, so you can do fake 3D. Works well for point and click type adventures.

There is also an Isometric Grid extension in Bonus Pack 1 - sorry, the bonus pack doesn't work with the demo version.

    3. The latest build (245 beta) contains a new save/load frame feature. It saves the state of virtually everything. So if your user has dragged and dropped everything where they want it, you can set it up so they can save it as a file. There are plenty of example files around that show you how to drag and drop.

    5. MMF2 Dev allows you to publish your games without a logo. It comes with some extra extensions, and there are further Dev only extensions in Bonus Pack 1:

    1. You can create your own server in MMF, Jamagic Java. Alternatively you can run the dedicated Linux server or use a public server.

    4. SmileyHouse (Quirky MORPG); Tank Wars Online (top-down tank-based fighting game, you'll need to find a friend to play against and get their IP to play); Atu'los Online (Diablo-style MORPG);
    Super Ken Senshi
(online shooter inspired by Raiden 2).

    5) If you are doing application development, get MMF2 developer. If you are only doing game development, get MMF2 standard. Both are fine for commercial development, but if you don't want to credit Clickteam, get MMF2 developer.
