    Directional Sound

    Hi

Is it possible to make sounds come from certain places? For exmaple: It is possible to set the position where you hear the sounds from, and where the sounds are.

I remember the DS2 object used to be able to do this, but it's not availible for MMF2 anymore.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

    "Pan" is the key here
Search for examples on the file archive.

    Hmmm, Pan eh?

Well, I guess that sounds about right, but I'd need way more than 32 channels, and each sample would have to be positional as upto 30 other "enemies" will shoot from all different parts.

    Thanks!

With the Onu audio engine you can take advantage of 64 channels. And it has pan ability. But whatever system you use, if you play too many sounds simultaneously you'll only get a very noisy mess.
