    Size Limits on SWF?

    Greetings Clickteam.

When I tried to make a SWF build to one of my games, which I designed in 800x600 format, and I try to test run the applications and frames, it seems to be in 640x480 format.

Are SWF builds automatically created in 640x480 even if you wanted them in 800x600, or am I doing something wrong?

This doesn't seem to happen with vitalize builds, just SWF builds (and I also had it happen with a Java applet build).

    Help!

    Thanks,
    Steve

Strange, you can make the window size anything you want.
I don't have any issues building an 800x600 SWF/Flash file.

Can you upload the MFA where it forces it to be 640x480?

Yes... And it had a few other glitches that doesn't happen in standalone build---like it will close the opening play frame when I double click...

Where do I upload the mfa
    to?

    Thanks

Actually the closing window problem seems related to a bug in the game clock that occurs in the swf build but not the standalone build...

If you click the reply directly under the posts here you can upload in this forum. This opens the advanced post editor with additional functions.

The "Quick Reply" box at the end of the thread does not have the file upload feature on it.

Or you can start a new thread and you should see the file manager link.

Make sure both your framearea AND Application windowsize is set to you desired format.

    Re: Size Limits on SWF?

Is there a place I can upload the MLA without it being on display for everyone to see?

By the way, the more I have toyed with it, it seems the problem with the screen being off center started when I had full screen enabled for my standalone application, and then deleted full screen to make the swf build.
Now, unless the full screen is put back in, the screen is off center, with half the playing field cut off...

Does that give you any idea what might be wrong?

When I tried windowed mode, it was still off center...

    Doesn't make any sense...

Maybe I'll just stick to full screen Vitalize Builds...

So if you take the same exact file and build as a Vitalize and as a SWF it operates differently?

Same file just changing the build type.

    Re: Size Limits on SWF?

I think I found a fix to the problem:

When I remade the build, under properties, I clicked under the Window tab "Do not center window in frame"

Now the whole frame comes up.

    There is another problem though...

I have a clock which works this way:
Global value M=3 (for three minutes)
    Global value S=0 (for seconds)

Every 1 sec, the clock subtracts 1 second, and if Global S=-1 then I set Global S to 59 and M=M-1 until M=0 S=0.

The clock works perfectly in my standalone build, but when I run it in SWF,
every 1 second, the frame ends, and jumps to the next frame. Then when 1 sec ticks off, the frame ends, and jumps to the next frame, and so on and so on.

Not sure why this is happening... I suppose it is related to the clock somehow but not sure.
I thought it was related to mouse clicks but it wasn't.
Anyone else had a problem like this?

    Edit:
Well, it may not even be related to the clock...
It seems to abruptly end the frame and jump to the next frame within 1-2 sec of starting the frame... WEIRD!
