iPad 2 - random crashing when restarting app after a force quit

Has anyone had any issues when exiting your app, force quitting it, and then restarting it on an iPad 2? My app always crashes a few times after doing this - usually in the first frame or two and always on the frame jump - never midframe (which are just basic menus - nothing fancy, not a lot of graphics or objects). If I keep restarting the app eventually it will run fine (it usually takes 4 to 5 times). I only have this problem with the iPad 2. I tested it on my iPhone 4 and it runs perfectly when restarting after a force quit. Not sure what could be the problem.
