Play a flash file in an exe app

    Hi,

I'd like to play a flash program in a windows executable. The Flash file is interactive so the player must be able to click on and use the buttons in this swf. I would need this to run in a frame inside a MMF application. Is there an object for this? I don't need this program to be built in SWF, it has to be an EXE.

Thanks for any suggestions or ideas

You could probably use the Web Object or an ActiveX control.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have never used the ActiveX object. Could you just give me a short description of how I would go about linking an SWF to the ActiveX object?

    Thanks!

Stephen was right the first time, you can use the web object to load up the external SWF be it local or remotely.

Using ActiveX is a liability because the user's machine may not have the ActiveX installed or want it installed. But by using the Web Control Object it is packed along with your final executable.

I downloaded the Web object through ExtensionView and that version couldnot unzip. I then went directly on the developers site and downloaded the one that was there. That one unzipped fine, so I placed all the files in their respective directories but the extension still doesn't show up in my extension list.

Any idea where I can get a working copy of this extension?

A question if I may. Was MMF open or closed when you placed the files into the folders? If so, always make sure that MMF is not running when installing extensions. In your case close and re-open MMF.

No, everything was closed, even ExtensionView. I checked in the respective directories if the files were actually there, and everything looks fine, but when I run MMF, there is no Web Object in my list. I even tried scaning the files with Norton in case they were being blocked by it, but everything came up clean. I though it might be the actual files not being compatible with the latest version of MMF2dev. Just as a general information, the ExtensionView application doesn't download a working copy of this extension. The downloaded file through ExtensiionView is unopenable.
