I am working on the iOS runtime on a late 2009 Mac Mini.
Over the years it just became slower and slower - mainly because the XCode is getting heavier on CPU and memory.

I inserted new RAM and it ran much much faster. Extra memory really does do a lot of difference

Mac Mini OK for IOS export?

That's good to know, I have a late 2009 iMac and can't really update this year since I just bought a £1,000 PC, but I had been considering sticking more RAM in the Mac instead

Just note, if you do need a CD/DVD drive. They usually have them fairly cheap at Walmart, Staples, Target or Best Buy. Or where ever you go shopping for electronics. I like the style of the Apple super drive (or whatever it's called), but it's nothing the $20-$30 drives can't do.

Yes, I saw that the CD/DVD attachment at the Apple store is $79. If I end up needing it, I'll look elsewhere first.

It's like the keyboard and mouse. In the Apple store it's $49 for a keyboard and $49 for a mouse. I went to Walmart and bought a Mac compatible keyboard & a Mac compatible mouse for a total of under $30 for both.

The Mac Mini comes with a HDMI to DVI Adapter, so I went to another store and bought a 22" widescreen monitor with a DVI imput for under $100.

I'll think about more memory later. I have no money left I basically bought this Mac Mini only to be able to do the final build for my MMF2 games. I'll use the PC for everything else.

I used a Mac Mini no problem for a long time. If you're just using the Mac to build then performance really isn't an issue. I even wrote a couple of extensions.

you really don't need much ram if you are only using it for xcode, don't think I have ever ran into trouble with 2GB worth so far even with multiple windows open.
