    Data sheet

    Hi everybody,

    I need lots of help.

I'm working in the sales department of a company and as probably everybody knows we have sale targets to reach every month or year.
What I would like to do is some sort of data sheet.

I would need a "setup" page or something to type in my targets and a page for each month to type and compare how much I sold and how far it gets me as far as my annual target.

I could do it in Excel but we don't use Excel at work- We've got different programms for that.

What my problem is, I don't know how to create a sheet to type in informations that will be saved and used throughout the whole programm.
I don't know how to start. How can I create a line or column to enter data? How can I save and automatically load my data?

    Thanks in advance.

I see you use developer. The data grid object will save and load your data. You can add columns and rows and lots of other functions.

Thank you Marv for your reply.
Been looking through your examples but I couldn't find one for the grid object. Do you know any examples that would discribe the use of this object?

Bogeyman. I have never seen an example for this object, nor have I ever used this.

    Sorry,

I'd recommend just using Excel for this — Excel exports to XML which MMF can read quite easily with extensions, so you can build your application off that. Trying to reinvent the wheel and create your own input system is possible, but it's likely not actually going to benefit you too much given the amount of work it would take.

Jacob. Excel is out of the question, as they do not use Excel at the work place. He came here to find some other way.

Could you elaborate a bit on that? What programs are you using?
