    Simple Pathfinding with the flocking object?

    Hi everyone.

    I'm looking for an example file that I found a while back but have since lost. It used the flocking object to make some simple path-finding around objects. I was wondering if anyone still had it, or knew where I could get it. or perhaps even knows how to do the technique. From what I recall the pathfinding was not exceptional by any means but for what I want it for I think it will be effective. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    To do pathfinding with the flocking object all you have to do is tick the 'avoid obstacles' checkbox in the object itself (or set it at start of frame), set up (or paste) some backdrop objects as obstacles then use :

    start of frame
    ->add object as a boid (number)

    always
    ->attract boid (number) to x(target), y(target)

    I was searching for a solution to make my enemies in my 2.5D game avoid objects lying spread out on the ground.
    I tried checking the "avoid obstacles" in my flocking object, but no luck. My enemies just walk straight through my obstacle-backgrounds.
    Any ideas?

    Hi!

    Does anyone know how to set the initial direction of a boid at the start of frame?

    Thanks,

    Rodney
