Surface Object: Take "screenshot" of section on screen

Hello, I just am starting to use the Surface Object, and it seems extremely powerful!! Only I don't quite understand how to do what I am trying to do... could someone possibly walk me through how to do the following:

    - Set up a surface 400 wide by 100 tall, and move it to the bottom of the screen
    - Take a "screen shot" of a section in the frame, from (50,50) to (450,150)
    - Display this screen shot on the surface object
    - Save the screen shot as a png

This would be very helpful! Thanks!!

Or how does one make this work with the screen capture object?

Alright I finally got all this working... but now "Load image from file" (Input/Output -> Load from file) is not doing anything. I know the file I'm asking to load exists, it's just not loading it.

I've even made a new mfa with JUST a surface object, and the event [Start of Frame: Load image from file...], and even that doesn't work

    Hey BP,

For the earlier post I think you may have sussed it but there are two methods, you can set the screen capture object's output to clipboard then retrieve the clipboard into surface, or you can save as a file and load it although the clipboard method would probably be quicker and a tad more efficient.

For the latter post, I just did some tests and Start of Frame: Load image from file... works fine, are you double-checking the syntax if you're using an expression?

Yup I checked the syntax, it's a valid file. Can't get it to load an image... it's weird because the Surface example file where it loads images into the object works fine, but when I try to do this it doesn't work.

Did you update the surface object? If you find the official thread there was an update I'm pretty sure of it?
