    Making a application

    Hey all,

My boss at work was impressed i released my game onto the appstore and has asked a few questions about MMF2 as he wants something in particular to make apps that could be useful around the office.

I've never really bothered so much with applications (be it exe or ios) - i was going to have a go at making something to show him and wondered what the best way around this idea would be?

As an example, we check all the ICT suites at the school i work at and fill in damages into a notebook each day.

I'd love to make an application that would display each room and allow you to either select some tick boxes (ie Damages? No/Yes) as well as allow you to write any info it.

At the end of each day, this info would either be emailed to someone to add to a word document etc OR held on a database that could be accessible on a computer. I guess the email method would make the app a bit more universal though.

What would be the best way around this?

    Completely possible Redsquirrel.

EXE will give you 100x the amount of options and quicker prototyping extensions to work with, iOS albeit limited will require some knowledge of 'abusing' objects so to speak to create given apps.

For example, for your object checks, you would create a series of 'frames' with wizard buttons at the bottom such as '< Previous and Next >' each frame would then represent a room. You could load a list object that loops through objects in the particular room, as you loop through the objects 1 by 1 you could flag it as damaged or okay with a 0/1. You could then use the last frame to iterate through all the data and automatically email it to the given address.

Sorry for putting it in a nutshell but anything is possible (virtually). If you decide on a more clearer route/direction with some form of app, then by all means post back and I'll see what hints I can throw your way.
