    Export SWF at half size?

    Hi guys

I would like to build a game in HD resolution (1920x1080) and have devices scale the game down so the graphics stay looking sharp.

I would like to use the same game and export it to SWF, but at half size (960x640).

Is there anyway this can be done?

    Thank you in advance!

If you have MMF2DEV, then there is a clone option, which lets you create a copy of your game, only re-sized. Otherwise, I remember seeing a javascript example on these forums that showed how to scale MMF2 SWF files. I don't know where it is, though.

    Thanks you for the reply

The clone option sounds like what I need, but I don't have MMF2 dev. If it works with SWF export, then the dev version would be worth getting.

Has anyone used the clone feature before? Any other suggestions would be really appreciated also

    Thank you!

I have used the clone feature. It is compatible with all runtimes, as all it does is make a new application/game that has all of the code your previous one had and it scales it down to the size you enter. However, you might need to tweak some events. To be more precise, it won't adjust "Set X position", "Set Y Position", etc. actions/expressions/etc. It will tell you which ones might need looking into, however. It will also scale the speed of the built-in movements, as well as the path of the path movement, the starting positions (X,Y Coordinates) of objects, the object's graphics, etc.

There are certainly more advantages to Dev, with the main one being the fact that you can publish your games/applications without mentioning Clickteam at all. If you already have MMF2 Standard/TGF2, then I advise you first check to make absolutely sure that the clone option isn't available (I don't work for Clickteam, so I'm less likely to remember that sort of thing). First off, update to the latest version of MMF2. If it is available in the version of TGF2/MMF2 you have, then right-clicking on the name of your game/application should bring up this drop-down menu, with "clone" being one of the options:

    Clone is circled in red.

If you want to get MMF2DEV, then you can actually upgrade at a discount here. By the way, I advise that you register your copy of TGF2/MMF2 here. It will give you access to the owner's lounge here, and the owner's lounge has beta versions of MMF2 available. Registering a product will also let you have an avatar and signature, and give your account a badge/badges based on the product/products you registered. You can also register runtimes there. You can look below my avatar to get an idea on what that will look like. One last thing, welcome to the forums!

Thanks again for the reply, you guys are very helpful!

I've checked the setting and the standard MMF2 doesn't have the option. I will get MMF2 when I'm a little closer to finishing my project.

My game mainly relies on actors getting clicked/dragged (point and click puzzle game). Would resizing the game cause issues with these events, or is it only when you set a specific X/Y position?

    Thanks again!

PS. Going to register my products now

It probably wouldn't cause any issues, though it might still require some minor tweaking. Also, you might have to re-draw some objects, as they might not look good scaled down. It definitely makes making games smaller easier, though.
