Question How to stretch gradient background? (Q)

    Hi!
I must be missing something. I don't get where to adjust the background to fill the screen? (with conditions....)
I want a gradient background. It would also be verry handy if there is a way to change the colors in the gradient with conditions.

In my example I'm creating an Android project with Screen Orientation ability set to Auto. (Witch is stretching / changing the screen on a flip).
(I need this application to be this way. Customers demands, so I just get it to work).

My workaround is to use active picture with leads me in to next issue...

You cannot do anything with background objects at runtime. You could have two background layers, one with a quickbackdrop with sized to fit the screen horizontally, and one that fits the screen vertically. Then use the Layer object to decide which of the two that should be visible.

Insane... In my mind, everything that include graphics, need a background object you can work with...
The problem here is the frame / screen size is dynamic pending on the users interface. So the background have to be adjustable.

SMASHINGmedia, try the 'Background Gradient Object'.
Im quite sure it can do ehat you want.
You might need to download it though ( Use Extencion View ).

EDIT: I just checked, throught Actions in the Event Editore the gradient Backdrop Object can:
    - Change its dimencions
    - Change both of its gradien colors

Im not sure how the Object will affect performance of your creaation though, but give it a try and see how it turns out

I don't think that object is compatible with the Android runtime, and he specifically stated that it was an Android game/app...
