    Question Random Issues With SWF Alpha Channels Flashing White Only on Portals

    I have about 24 objects on alpha channels that "explode" at the same time using the pinball movement. It works fine,loading from my desktop in firefox, but when I view it on newgrounds and one other place, the alpha channel displays as white and might be flashing a little bit.

    Any ideas why this may be happening?

    I was curious if the alpha channel was being sacrificed in order to speed up the render, but I can't imagine that the swf is capable of that...

    Oh, and I have tons of other objects on alpha, but they seem to be fine, so is this a "movement" issue?

    Do you build your Newgrounds application with TGF? If yes, TGF does not support alpha channels.

    No, I didn't use TGF.

    Again, it works fine running the swf on my desktop, but when I upload it to the portal it has some issues. The weird thing is that I have other objects on alpha and they're fine, so I think it has to do with the pinball movement or the processing speed or something.

    Are you using IE to look at the online page? If yes, the ActiveX Flash player may be out of sync with the other browser's player.

    I'm using Firefox, but I didn't check the Flash version in MMF2 when I built. I think it defaults to 9 or something. Should I change it? I don't like to mess with it because I usually don't have any problems. Is that why I'm having problems? I didn't really think about that, but... hmmm...

    I would try a different version redpandagames. Everything to gain and nothing to lose.

    I guess I could try changing it to 10 or something. By the way, I can barely read any of the forum text because it's displaying as white against a light blue background.

    Go to your forum settings and maybe try Classic for the forums?
