I am creating a level that uses nothing but backdrops for the maps...however there are aspects of the map I want that give the level depth. Here's what I'm doing:

I have at least 12 unique backdrop objects, 8 are walls, a floor, and obstacles.

I can place the walls on top of the obstacles. I want the player to be able to walk in front of, or behind the backdrop as they collide with it, as if in a 3D space (my game will bed isometric, and I do not understand how to use the isometric grid or arrays >///<.

It seems applications can have seemingly endless number of backdrops without lose of frame rate.

Is there a way to make it so that, when a character collides with a unique backdrop (not all of them) and change its order (layers)? Also, is there a way to change the transparency of a unique backdrop at runtime or simply toggle invisibility?

Thank you. I've just read about 10 posts from him in a row that contain nothing but rambling nonsense about "signatures" and how he has a certain way of doing things. It's getting fairly annoying and it might be time to make use of the old block feature I'm just afraid he might be scaring new users away with his posts that don't actually help them answer their questions.

Not to mention all of his answers are totally wrong... plus he puts down the use of extensions or methods he doesn't understand how to use... He is basically just stifling creativity here.
