David Newton Platformer Wall Climb Glitch

I recently got Multimedia Fusion 2 and have begun creating a platform game. After creating the gravity and horizontal movement from the tutorial, I used an online tutorial to add a basic form of the wall jump. After multiple attempts (The player could slide down a wall, but would only bounce up the wall slowly, in an extremely buggy manner, instead of leaping off the wall, I decided to just scrap the whole wall jump idea all-together. I deleted the objects and their corresponding events. I was testing various aspects of my test level when I found a big issue:if the player jumped against a wall, they would quickly scale the wall. However, this issue did not exist on the right-hand side. I would love to be able to eliminate this issue, so gameplay will be balanced and functional. I searched around and couldn't find any similar problems with others. I was wondering if any of you had any ideas about what could be causing the problem and how it can be fixed. Thanks
