    deflection example

Some time ago I saw an example file for a ball that used a fastloop/animation frame detection scheme to figure out angle of deflection. I think the example switched through animation frames of a single pixel rotating around the object to find the nearest surface.

Can anyone point me to that example? I cant seem to find it.

Hi Reg, can you give me a hint of the name? I remember what you refer to, but I don't remember the name.

Sadly I cant remember what the example was specifically used for. I thought it was to simplify calculating a deflection. At least that was what I wanted to study it for.

Aasland: That isn't the one I was looking for but it should be pretty helpful if I need to try a different approach.

MuddyMole: Those are definitely the concept I remember seeing, but I thought I saw one that used animation frames with a detector placed at different positions. Then it was a matter of cycling through the frames until the overlap was detected. But maybe that is not the optimal approach? Thanks to both of you for the links.
