Old sound files staying in project?

I have been replacing my .wav files with smaller .ogg files to reduce the size of my application. However, when I export it, the file is 40 MB LARGER. I looked through the list of sounds that pops up when you select "play sample" in the event editor, and the old .wav files definitely aren't there any more. This leads me to believe that the application is still somehow pointing to the old .wav files even though they aren't showing up in the list. Any idea what might be going on?

    Yeah that's bit annoying.
I myself just overwrite earlier sound file with same name, but it did just made another "version" of it with (2) after it. I'm not sure how to delete those, haven't looked so far yet.
But I think that if you load files externaly then you can overwrite them. But if use "play sample" instead of "play sample file" you should replace the files from "Data elements" (view -> data elements -> sounds and replace)
But that again without overwriting the actual file in your HD, just name it differently and replace from there.

EDIT: Okey sorry I read your post too quickly. But huh that's odd, you could try to create installer of your game, and check installer settings that those .wav files ain't there to make sure.
