Apply shader to specific object(s)? Or another way to do this?

    Hey!

Okey so, might be a brain fart but how would you approach this

I have flashlight set up like this:
New layer top of graphics layer. Quick backdrop object, layer effect "substract" and for flashlight black cone to substract the background.
    It's good, no problems here.

But I'm looking a possibility to add another cone (white one) to graphics layer which's effect is "color dodge". So it highlights and brings up contrast from flashlight's area.
Thing is when I'm using parallel scrolling I only need to apply color dodge to certain graphics. Basically I can't highlight the parallel backgrounds cause it does not look right.
I only need to highlight the layer player is on.

Sounds simple enough, what you guys think?

You could have all the objects to be highlighted moved when necessary at runtime to your "colour dodge" layer and then back again, or set the effect for each object if overlapped by the flashlight which would save you the extra layer, but this could be an issue if you already have shaders on your objects until we get some shader stacking action (mmf2.5?).

Hymm I'm not sure I understand.
Looki cooked me a Color Dodge shader that supports angle. Now I can rotate it without bugging the background!
But when I have parallel scrolling, stuff far away in background scrolling slower, I don't want my flashlight to affect the background.

    But thanks for trying!
