    Another Stairs question...

Hey guys, as some of you know i'm making a fan version of a castlevania (non profit of course, just for fun AND fans ) and i had a stairs system that consisted of activating/deactivating flags for obstacle overlaps. It worked great in the sense of playability, but animations didn't match and a LOT of it seemed like unnecessary objects and coding, so i just started a new set from the ground up. Since then, the collisions work perfectly, but i have a new problem. When the player walks up the steps it looks like he "hops" a little too much in his steps and it looks unnatural. Is there any tips/advice you guys could give me in this? if need be i can post a vid showing you how it looks in game.

Stairs are actually just ladders that move you horizontally as you ascend. Just code it like that and use a walking animation. OR just make them behave like smooth slopes, and put the stair graphics over top.

It might have to do with where your events are placed too. Like if I make something and the guy's positioning or movement looks a little choppy it might be because the movement group's towards the bottom of the event list and on top of the "camera" group when it should be the other way around.

It might actually make a difference, who knows?
