Lots of sounds not playing in MMF but play normaly in windows media player etc

I have WAV sounds I have made with sfxr/bfxr, as well as quired from sound packs i purchased online or had someone make for me.

I can play them in windows with media player or VLC no problem.
but when i try and use them in MMF2, they won't play.

I lot of these WAV files I have had for a while, and they used to work in previous versions of MMF... so i am not sure if something is just not right with my installed version, or if there is something incombatable. This does not happen with all WAV files. the only thing i can find is that files listed as STEREO seems to work, MONO WAVs seem to fail.

has anyone else been seeing this behavior?

Most likely something to do with the format the sounds are saved in.
Perhaps use an editor like Audacity and save them under a new bitrate.

Check the bitrate of the files that work and make the other files the same.

    Hi Method72,
have You tried to open the Non-Working-Wave-Files in a capable Audio-Editor like Audacity (Freeware) and then re-exported the Wave-File with different Export-Settings?
It could be that some of the Wave-Files are 32-bit Wavefiles which need to be converted to 16bit. Perhaps the Files that don' t work are also in a Higher Sample-Rate (like 48, 96 or even 192 or 384 KHz). Converting it down to 44.1 KHz could also resolve the Problem. If only Mono-Wave-Files fail, perhaps making them Stereo (in Audacity for Example) should perhaps work too.
Just some of my Ideas, if i have other new Ideas, i' ll reply back again. It would be great if You could reply here too if one of my Solutions solved the Problem
    With kind regards,
    jahkri
