    2.5 platform physics

    Playing around with the new platform physics in 2.5 and trying to make a character perform a ledge grab.

    I can't seem to find any way of stopping a player falling (for when he overlaps the ledge marker). It seems the only options it lets me change is the elasticity and friction on the overlap.

    How is it done?

    Right now, the physics platform movement is pretty limited. I don't believe a ledge grab is possible with it as of now. I also don't think that ledge grabs are easy to code in general. You could try putting a feature request up on the bug box: http://bugbox.clickteam.com/

    However, I'm not sure what would have to be added for a ledge grab to be possible. I'm not sure that there is any way a ledge grab could become possible with the physics platform movement, even if a lot of ways to move the object manually were added (such as the apply impulse and apply force actions).

    You could change the movement from physics to static when the player grabs the ledge.. everything is possible.
