What do I need? Some help on purchasing the right thing

    Hi there,

I'm looking at the different options for this product and I am slightly confused. Let me tell you what I am trying to do:

I want to make a game in HTML which people on Android and iPhone devices can still play over the internet. So, it would need some sort of touch controls built in and I am assuming I will need the HTML5 exporter to get the game in to the right format. Would I need other modules to handle the touch objects? I don't, for the moment, want to export to an IOS/Android device.

Also, this is a commercial project. How would I be limited if I didn't get the developer version?

    All the best,

    Steve

    Hello, welcome to the forums!

Simply put, there are 3 versions of Fusion 2.5:
    Free -- not released yet.

Standard -- "Royalty free commercial runtime subject to runtime agreement." Requires you to credit and logo it was built with Fusion. There are some limitations in extensions and features which you can see in the comparisons chart.

Developer -- Again, "Royalty free commercial runtime subject to runtime agreement." Bit more expensive, comes with more features, and doesn't require you to credit or put logos in your final product.

    There's a full comparison chart here: http://www.clickteam.com/compare-versions

When you export your final piece, you can then upload it to a web server, and let others play the game straight from their web browsers. If you meant multiplayer gaming, I'm not aware this is possible right now with HTML5 since Lacewing client hasn't been ported over, but PC and Android runtimes are capable of doing this.

    So, to answer your queries:
    - You can purchase either Standard or Developer, both let you distribute commercially.
    - You'll need to purchase the HTML5 exporter to be able to export to HTML5.
    - Touch objects come with the HTML5 exporter, so you'll be able to enable things like touch joysticks and multiple touch.
    - Your final piece will work on iPhone and Android HTML5-enabled browsers.

Thank you very much for your reply, that's brilliant.

I think I shall go with the standard version and HTML5 module to begin with. I am not unfamiliar with how this works as I did have KlicknPlay and The Games Factory back in the day so I know the rest of the program is what I'm after. If all works out well I may get the developer version and IOS module after that.

    What fun!

Once again, thank you for your time and such a concise answer.

    Steve
