3 little pesky bugs plaguing me. MFA included!

Detail of the bugs are written in text inside the game screen. It's the cute platformer Cliffall I've been working on for years.
Now I am trying to implement fixed jumping (a la ghouls n ghosts or atari's pitfall where you can't control where he lands aka realistic jumping - since this jumping style is perfect for this type of platformer)
I would love if you can send the fixed mfa back. I will learn from your expertise!
I'm sure you can find the solution. I consider myself a newbie when things get more advanced then the basics, lol

The software is fine! It's just my own coding bug. Can I call it that? or bug is just a term for software problems? guess I mistake bug for coding problem.
update: i was able to squash one of the problems! hooray! and that is where the char would slide and glide off the ladder if you jumped on it and held up or down.
The only 2 problems remaining are
1 - how to jump and change the animation direction in mid air
2 - char stops for a while after hitting collision barrier

Ah OK, I just wanted to make sure you posted in the right place to get help as quickly as possible was all :-) I'm still on mobile so I cannot help yet alas.
