Question Deleting backdrops out of the frame

When i walk around with my character the frame follows it.
Under the player are 32x32 tile of grass when the grass leaves the frame it needs to be destroyed and when i walk back to that position it needs to get created.
How can i do this? Also my tiles are backdrops and not object.
    Thanks!

Sorry I don't have a solution. But why do you need to do this? Is it for resource reasons? Backdrops don't take up that much memory compared to actives. A 32x32 tile should only be stored in memory once regardless of how many are on screen IIRC.
