Run external program - windows 8 - not working

Hi Clickers,

I am working on an application that needs to open/show PDF files. On my desktop computer (Windows Vista) I use the Execute external program with the following:
Enter the pathname to the program to run = List Select$("List")
Enter the command line = ""
Enter the run parameters = both unchecked
This works fine on the development computer.

When I try the same thing on my tablet computer (Dell Venue 11 Windows 8) Windows kicks out an error

Cannot use control \"ControlName\" registered at {CA8A9780-11CF-A24D-444553540000} in this computer registry: Unable to find any programming interface.

Not sure what that cryptic message is telling me but apparently Windows 8 isn't liking something.

I know I can view PDFs with the table because if I double click on a PDF in Explorer, the PDF pops up like it would on other computers.

Any idea what is going on here?

Hi Cris_D and all clickers! I try this just now and this working correctly! Maybe it is a virus or malware program crash your Windows 8 machine, try check your antivirus program to banned application!

The problem here is, MIME extension association.

Check the registry and find this value in a search. It seems corrupt. Either that, or, it's a bug with the way the Fusion runtime tries to initiate an application to run via an expression...
