    Email data from the application?

I'm curious to know if its possible to email stored data from within the application itself.

Basically, I have some values/strings that store information on how the application is being used by the user.
Upon exiting the application, I would like that stored information to be emailed to a predefined email address - to keep a record of those various stored variables for each time the application is being used.

I know this is pretty obscure, but it would be incredibly helpful to have this functionality for this specific application.

    Any thoughts?

MMF Dev edition does have an email object which can use to send and receive emails. If I wanted to implement such a feature I would ensure that the user is made fully aware that it occured and also give the option to opt out of it.

Yes you can send any information from strings/values via the email object. This is not obscure, it's unorthodox. However, if the user knows it will send emails I see no problem with it although there are more secure ways of sending data to a server as opposed to email.

    I appreciate your help guys!

To clarify (so I don't sound like I'm trying to do some shady spy stuff lol) - this is an application being developed for the company I work for - it will not be publicly released.
We wanted a way to monitor how our sales reps are using the various elements of the application, so we can take out functions that arent being used, or add other functions that my be helpful, etc.

I would highly recommend using GET with PHP/SQL to track/monitor events from within the application (in realtime too) as opposed to email but both are viable options.

Danny - I appreciate your input on that. Mr. Vance mentioned the Get Object on another forum post that I created... I need to look into this.
Do you know of any good tutorials that would cover this topic?

Ps - How "beginner" is the beginner video course you put together? I've been thinking about getting it..
I just don't want to spend that kind of cash if it is super basic overview stuff, ya know.. Like, I need an "intermediate" course..

    Hey Corey,

It really is a beginner course, if you're looking for Intermediate then this won't suffice. I was working on Intermediate and Advanced courses to follow but with the release of 2.5 I decided to scrap that and create a new, all-in-one course which features 3 sections, Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced with TONS of content to keep you going for weeks!

If you do decide to sign up for this course now, when the new 2.5 course is due out, you will get a free upgrade to the new course when it's available. I ETA around 4-5 weeks from now!
