    Unhappy Smooth Resizing Causing Coloured outlines

    Hi Guys

    I'm a little bit frustrated with this issue. I've posted numerous topics on this and still no answers. Every time I post or bump a topic, I wait up to weeks to get any response.

    The issue I'm referring to is "Smooth resizing" causing outlines on objects when the object itself or the screen is scaled. I've posted numerous screenshots and explained this in detail in all my posts.

    +++++++++++++++

    The reason this happens:

    When importing a PNG with an Alpha Channel, Fusion forces you to pick a "Transparent Colour" which for some reason it uses instead of the alpha channel itself.

    The proof in this is that if you choose black (and your background is white), you will notice a faint black outline when the object/screen are scaled.

    This is because Fusion interpolates the colour between the object and the background using the Transparent colour.

    You can minimize this by either, choosing a transparent colour similar to the object it self or the background.

    Now, this is not really a solution and only works with single coloured objects.

    +++++++++++++++

    The Bug / Issue lies in the way The Smooth Resizing Algorithm works and because Fusion forces you to pick a Transparent colour.

    Clickteam can you PLEASE respond and let us know whether this can be fixed.

    Thank you in advance!

    Unhappy

    I noticed the same problem =/

    the solution only works if the object has the same color around the outline

    <Skips long rant about why (as far as happygreenfrog knows) this is happening>

    So, yeah, this post was originally going to have a long rant about what is going on wrong, but, instead, I'm going to skip straight to the point:

    I've attached an example of smooth scaling done right. It should help you understand what is going on a little bit better, and it should show you what you can do to fix the issue.

    Hi happygreenfrog

    Thank you for posting the sample I'm pretty sure understand exactly what is happening, but this still doesn't solve the issue.

    Basically, we have to use workarounds for something that should not need them.

    If I have a character with a yellow head and a blue body, I can only pick one of the colours for the transparency, which means that part of the character will have a strange halo / outline around it.

    It would be awesome if Clickteam would comment to let us know whether this can be fixed.

    Thanks again!

    It works for multi-color objects, too, actually. You do not need to pick a transparent color, since that's not what I did. You can actually draw in the invisible part of an object. If you need proof, then I can make you a new example that proves it.

    Actually, the Windows runtime shows a black outline. I'm not sure about whether or not everything works fine without an alpha channel, since, usually, I use alpha channels on any objects that I want to scale anyway, since alpha channels make the edges of objects look smoother in the first place. If you don't mind waiting a moment, then I can show you an example that fixes the issue, since it is NOT selecting the transparent color that fixes it (not how I did it, anyway).

    EDIT: Here's the new example. Same code, slightly different images (with two colors instead of one).

    Hi happygreenfrog

    Thanks again for putting time into this! I am actually confused now. What do you mean when you say "You don't need to pick a transparent colour / You can actually draw in the invisible part of an object"

    Also, I looked at your example and the last one scales well. The trouble is, I don't understand what you did. Did you pick a "Yellow" as the transparent colour? ( on the import screen ).

    Thank you again!
