That's what I was thinking, Snail, especially since as far as I can tell there aren't really any major bugs (though there are some things that were minor design oversights that I have no plans on fixing because they are both helpful and amusing instead of a hindrance), but then again for all I know I may have missed some...

But then again, I don't think I'll be able to find them without player feedback anyways, which is why I kinda want to just release what I have so far to get feedback on the demo/free version/first episode (probably both an inaccurate term to use for this and yet a rather fitting one due to how much this may end up being more like the first episode of an older shareware game in a sense)/whatever you want to call it (I really am not sure that demo is the right term for this).

    That would probably work, yeah.

Though there is one question: If I put it on my website, should I be concerned about virus scanner false positives and the fact that Windows doesn't seem to like EXE files downloaded from the internet? EDIT: Got an answer on ClickConverse that basically said I shouldn't worry about it.

P.S. Thanks for the feedback on the matter!

    EDIT 2:

Screenshot of the (not 100% finished) title screen, with rough version of the alpha version message:

And a zoom-in on the text:

Well, what do you guys think?

It has been a while since I've posted an update (most of my updates have been focused on the prequel/demo, Robovania: Dark Rebellion), but I've finally got something new to show you guys!

So, I decided to include some footage of this game in my new channel trailer (it's the second one demonstrated):

It's old footage, but in the new context of the trailer, it has a fairly different effect, so I figured I'd share it here as well.

I compose it myself for the most part. In my modern games (e.g. War for Robovania and Robovania: Dark Rebellion), and my games based on much more recent but still retro styles (e.g. 404: Past Not Found), I usually use OpenMPT, and in my retro-styled games (e.g. Adventure of the Star Twins and Quadratic Attack 3D), I usually use Famitracker. There are a few exceptions to this. For example, I used musics from Incompetech for Echobyte Heroes. Incompetech's website can be found here: https://incompetech.com/

Other exceptions include most of my older games, which often either didn't have music at all, or used OpenMPT despite the graphics being "retro" at best, and... well, okay, most of the other exceptions are games that I haven't actually released yet (they're fairly old, and some of them are honestly in desperate need of improvement because of that), but suffice to say there are a few retro-style games I've made which tried to re-create a retro musical style in OpenMPT-made musics, even if the games in question will likely change a lot before they ever see public release.

OpenMPT can be found here: https://openmpt.org/

Famitracker can be found here: http://famitracker.com/

For OpenMPT, you may need to do some hunting for instruments on your own, since there are only so many MIDI instruments which are particularly good. I recommend finding some good, free VSTi instruments. Me personally, I use these: http://www.dskmusic.com/

That being said, I occasionally throw in some basic MIDI instruments and custom instruments (some made in Audacity, some made directly in OpenMPT) for good measure, since sometimes they can sound pretty good as well.
