String Text Display - with Different Monitor sizes

    Hello,

I am using the String object to display text in a 640x480 app that is "resize display to fill window size." It appears fine on all HDTVs / widescreen monitors, and laptop screens.

However, when I use my old Windows XP Compaq PC to plug into one of my previous tested widescreen to run the EXE, the text is not positioned / aligned like my other PCs (the x and y positioning is the same).

    For example:
    - text appears a few pixels higher than it should be
    - text extends to the right edge and is cut off

How do I make it so that the String text display is consistent across all display?

Well, for starters, Windows XP isn't supported by Microsoft anymore, so you shouldn't be targeting that, especially versions before SP3 (if you don't have Service Pack 3, update to it immediately). Second off, it could be the monitor. Third off, if it isn't the monitor, then it could be related to this bug, though I personally have only had it happen in CF2.5, and this bug only applies to the "a few pixels higher than it should be" part, and even then only potentially: http://bugbox.clickteam.com/issues/1444

Other than that, I don't know what it could be.

Ah, I forgot about the XP nonsupport. It could possibly be related to the graphics card NVIDIA GeForce 2 Integrated display problem?

Other than that, the off positioning String object happens with my .swf files all the time too regardless of the monitor - but I figure that is a flash thing which accommodates for the String object being too large for the actual text or something.
