    Android Export on device testing issues

    Hello Everyone!

    I´m a fresh user of CF2.5 with the Android Export Module 2.5.

    I have been experiencing some mayor differences between how the game behaves testing on PC and Android device. It´s quite a simple "endless flyer" type of game using 8 directional physics to control the player. Similar to Jetpack Joyride idea.

    Everything works perfect on PC. However when I build APK and try it on an actual Android device (I have tried on 3 different phones already) the game mechanics behave differently. The main problems are:

    - instead of flying up on touch the player moves forward
    - the speed in which the player flies up is about 5 times faster than on the PC
    - the scrolling elements disappear randomly

    This only happens on the Android device, on the PC everything works fine. I have searched the forum and could not find any thread about similar problem.

    I would be grateful for any advice on the matter from the more experienced users!

    Really nobody experienced similar problems?
    I´m looking to get the CF2.5 Developer version, but would like to make sure it´s not an issue with the software, just some rookie mistake I´m doing...

    Yes indeed, it is a steam version. Originally I used the 282 build. I updated through steam to beta version 283.1 but that didn't help.
    Will 283.2 resolve this issue?

    I have noticed when using physics the movement is slower when running on a android device. I just thought that this was because I was using a low spec tablet. I changed the frames per second to 30 which my android tablet had no problem maintaining but the difference from pc to android with both running at 30 FPS is still different - should they be identical?. Hopefully the latest version will fix this.

    I like your Santa graphic!

    I was playing around adapting the Flappy Bird video I saw the Powerful Fusion guy make and using that for the physics movement. (Which does need to be fixed anyhow since it should work the same)

    I got kinda close but ran out of free time to play with it.

    One tip is I try to reuse objects as object creation and deletion seems to require a lot of power on Android.
    So that might be something to keep in mind while you build out the game.

    Hi Seriouspig,

    I can confirm, that Santa jumps forward instead of up, when I run your example on Android (Xperia Z).
    On PC, direction is up.

    With Jeffs modification direction is up on Windows and Android .

    Build R282.3 Unicode. Not the Steam version.

    Jay73, I was hoping it would be identical. Especially that I have tried it on various Android devices as well as Blustacks emulator, and it behaves identically on all of them. Fingers crossed waiting to test it out on the latest beta once it´s available on steam.

    I updated the developer to R283 Beta, and it gives the same test results.

    Thanks Jeff!

    I tried your file on Android and it works exactly like on the PC. I also played around with the original file and managed to use different movement (pinball movement extension) to simulate the jetpack effect, and it does behave exactly like on PC. So I guess the problem must be with the physics engine when translating to Android. Hopefully the new build will fix it.
    I also changed the create-destroy to change position. Thanks for the tip!
