active object colisions when objects are on different layers

Colisions in fusion do not work for me if the objects are on separate layers.

Is it possible to get colision to work when two objects are on different layers, without having to clone one of the two to a different layer and moving it on each frame?

note that one of the layers also has a different X and Y coefficient - and I am moving the object on it by following the player frame (lanthern effect) . The tricky part is when having to get the lanthern light collide with something on the layer where all the events are (lower layer).

Only thing I can think of is making another active object follow the lanthern and all lighting objects in the scene- which would duplicate all light effect objects, just so lights can have colisions and work visually as intended (by being on a different layer from the one where scripting action is).

I dont like overcomplicating things and creating many invinsible collision objects for each light. Is there a hidden option somewhere to tell fusion to make a colisin for an object work on all layers or more than one layer?

Non-physic based objects may only collide with other objects on the same layer. Physic objects may collide with any other object on any layer. You could try making the light have a physics-based movement if possible. You could also manually change the layer of the lantern from A to B, check collisions, and then B to A every event cycle.

Or make a small backdrop object (in the properties make it collision) and place it on the layer in the position to register a collision.

hi, I didnt know that about physics objects

Thank you! I think I will try it. If it doesnt work out well- will go with marv's suggestion.

Edit: set it to static physics object and set all its values to 0. Works like a charm
