How to make a compass effect

Im trying to work out how to create a compass style object. I basically want a circle with a pointer inside that will point towards another object, to guide the player towards the object. Any ideas or tutorials available ?

Here's an idea and some examples.

If you use the Advanced Direction object, you can do this:
1. Set the hot-spot of the active of the compass that rotates to wherever it will pivot from and make the active static.
2. (In event editor) make an Always event and set the Scale/Angle -> Angle of the rotating compass to the LongDir("Advanced Direction", X("Player"), Y("Player"), X of where the compass points, Y of where the compass points)
