Two objects animations go out of sync

I've got two objects exactly the same with the same number of frames and animation speed.
At the start of the frame they move perfectly in-sync, together in the exact same spot. However when leaving the area and returning they are now out of sync.
    What's that all about?

The object is a swinging rope (rather like the one in the old Atari game Pitfall). It swings back and fourth but I didn't want the player to be able to grab all of the rope so I made a second invisible swinging rope that is just a few pixels of the end of the rope. It starts swinging in the same manner as the rope but then quickly goes out of sync when moving away and returning.

I've also not been able to figure out how to get the player to stick to the rope because when I do they end up in the top left corner where the hot spot is (0,0) away from the rope. If I move the hotspot so it's right on the end of the rope for each frame the rope then swings from the hotspot as it's anchor point, so it swings in the wrong orientation.

Aha! That's it. "Inactive if too far from window" is set to Automatic. It needs to be on No. This might also explain some other weirdness I've noticed with animated actives.

    Thanks Sparckman.

Got a working swinging rope and really simple too and fits nicely with the 8-bit look I'm sticking with.

I set the Action Point to the end of the rope instead of the Hotspot. A condition detects when the players collider box overlaps the end of the rope and sets a group of events to active. That group of events always positions the players collider on the end of the rope until they jump off or press S to drop down and the event group is made inactive.

Made two different ropes so the player can swing across an abyss - works a treat!
