Depending on your resolution, one way may be to down res things a bit. I am downsizing my project from 1080p to 720p for this reason. I was hitting 1.6gb of ram and knew I had to pull it back a bit. Also, you can cut some frames of animation sometimes and adjust the animation speed so it isn't as noticeable.

Make sure you've optimized all you can

Slice large backdrops, compress audio as much as possible while still maintaining an acceptable quality, cut some animation frames, try ogg instead of wav or mp3 etc.

Does your animations follow the power of 2 rule?If you're using animations that are say 960X1180 (random, just as example) then it will round up to the next power, in this case it would be 1024X2056 I believe. So all frames would be using more memory than needed.

So how does the "Power of 2" do that!
I'm somewhat of a noob, I know how to make a good game but the power of 2 confuses me!

If your mfa is 1.1gb then the chances are you need to do more optimisation of the resources in your game. Can you tell me the resolution of the 5 largest images in your game please?
